Description of work
A box turned from a log that was given to me to "see if you can make use of this". I think it may be ash. The lid is turned from a piece of walnut, and is Russian fit ("Popov" - that is a tight fit, as opposed to a French fit - "Tolouse"). It comes under the usual woodturner's description of a box - a hollow form with a lid.
Another box is shown below - turned from holly and about 4£ diameter by 5" high.
The boxes are finished with a triple wax system - rouge, white diamond, and finally high polish in carnauba wax.
