Bowls
Bowls are perhaps the classic turned item. They come in an infinite variety of shapes and sizes, ranging from a couple of inches diameter to thirty inches or more. As well as the classic wooden bowl, there are also natural edge bowls where the original bark, or the outline of the trunk, is left on the bowl, winged bowls, where a shape other than a circle is the starting point, platters, which tend towards a plate shape and are shallow, and hollow form bowls, where the top of the bowl narrows, and depending on height and shape can tend towards a vase shape.
We also make yarn bowls, to hold balls of wool while crocheting or knitting.
Bowls are normally finished with food safe oil and beeswax, making them safe to use in the kitchen. These can be wiped or washed with ordinary soapy water. More ornamental bowls may be finished with carnauba wax for a high sheen.
