Large maple display vase

Happy Christmas! This large wooden vase, or hollow form, was turned from the trunk of a maple tree given to me by my sister-in-law some years ago when it grew too large for her garden. It has sat in my garage waiting for it's opportunity. A couple of cracks and bark inclusions, but overall it has held together well. A second vase was made from the same trunk - see below. The vase was finished with mineral oil and then beeswax, which brings out the deep colouring and patterning well, providing a matt sheen to to the piece.
