The first of two batches of 25 key fobs made for Amberley Castle hotel in West Sussex. They requested a design based on a chess castle. I produced this one, based on the standard Staunton design but slightly elongated. They were turned in oak, and are based around a gold plated keyring kit which is fastened via a 7mm brass tube throught the centre of the piece, with a stud in the base (recessed to allow the fob to stand up). All have the inscription Aberley Castle pyrographed on the base. 19 of them have been pyrographed with the names of castles in the area, which the hotel uses as room names. The rest have been left blank, for sale to guests. All have been finished with three coats of wax - Tripoli, White Diamond and finally carnauba wax - leaving a hard wearing finish with a high sheen. A second batch of 25 was also made, so there were two keys for each room. See below.
Similar key fob designs are of course possible, as are smaller, more standard keyrings. Pricing within the £10 - £15 range is dependent on the shape, size, type of wood requested, and pyrography required.
