Candle trays

Description of work

A yew log has been sliced and then turned to provide a thin platter with a holder for a candle. The candles shown are pure beeswax, moulded with a honeycomb texture and with a small bunch of grapes emblem on the front. These candles may be available as well as the woodturning, sourced from a friend who keeps bees. 2" x 5", price £5. An alternative candle with another yew slice is shown below.

The holders have been finished with three coats of wax - Tripoli, white diamond, and finally carnauba wax to give a high polish hard wearing finish.
