Description of work

This trophy was created in 2014, and represents the last of the subject prizes to be made and awarded at Malton School. Subject prizes have gradually been added each year, until this completed the set. The piece is based on an iphone, made from acacia, and this is mounted on an oak plinth. Two earphones are attached with cane wires. This trophy will stay in school and have winners' names added each year. A smaller individual trophy was made using a CPU, and was presented to the winner in 2014 to keep. See below.

The piece was finished with the three-wax system - first Tripoli wax, then white diamond, and finally carnauba wax buffed to a high polish.
