Memorial trophy for a golf and cricket club

Kate in Cheshire requested a trophy in memory of her father who belonged to a golf and cricket club. Kate first suggested a ball made from willow to reflect a cricket bat, resting on Welsh slate, but willow is not an easy wood to source, or to turn, and the Welsh slate also proved difficult to source in time. After a number of emails back and forth, in the end we went with a special piece of rippled olive ash, resting on an oak column, with two ash golf tees. The cricket ball is full size (2.8" diameter). The dedication was pyrographed into the wood.
