Description of work

This is a football trophy to be presented to the "Players' Player of the year", for a team in Derbyshire. It is an example of how I can work with a customer on a design idea to produce something that meets with their approval, based on their initial thoughts, but is also makeable. Richard, who commissioned the trophy, sent me the drawing shown below, and with a few emails back and forwards we came up with this version, with which he was delighted.

The disc is about 7 inches in diameter, made from ash. It rests on a triangular olive ash base, about 3 inches high. The rim is pyrographed with the dedication "Players' Player of the year", and "Nunc Est Bibendum" (now is the time for drinking - the club is a pub club). The fox was cut, carved and shaped from sapele, and attached to the centre of the disc. Annual winners are likely to be recorded on the base with pyrographed rectangular wooden plaques

The price within the range suggested will depend on size, the amount of pyrography required, the type of timber used, and any special centrepiece design. As seen in the photo this would be £60.
