Trophy shield description

This trophy is one of six prepared for the Woking News and Mail, in association with the University of Surrey. Their Crest 21 business awards were for Corporate Responsibility for the Environment and a Sustainable Tomorrow. Their brief to us was to incorporate the honeycomb motif in the award - hence the hexagonal shape - and to use native timber from a sustainable source. There is plenty of sycamore available in Britain, and it is the best type of wood for the detailed pyrography as required here, due to its tight grain and light creamy colour.
