Description
An unusual, heavily patterned piece of burr acacia, perhaps suggesting the ravages of time? No attempt has been made to fill the cracks and burr intrusions on this piece, though the black burrs have been stabilised with cyanoacrylate.
A roman numeral clock face has been pyrographed onto the wood. The clock is a standard quartz movement taking an AA battery.
The clock has been sealed with cellulose sealer, then two coats of wax have been applied - Tripoli to clean and bring out the colour, and then hard carnauba wax to give a polished hard wearing sheen.
Definitely a one-off, though similar burrs may become available in future.
