Burrs occur when an unnatural growth of twiggy matter sprouts from a branch or trunk, or other stress causes unnatural grain patterns. When turned this reveals itself as a multitude of pips and swirls. Often the timber is cracked and pitted as well. All this makes for highly decorative wood. Each burr is inevitably different in size, shape and patterning.
The clock inserts can vary - any of the burrs will take any of the clock faces. All are battery operated quartz movements, which take LR1 batteries. It is also possible to have skeleton clocks - where you can see the movement. See examples below.
A gallery of clocks is available on the site.
