Description of work

This chess set is a unique design - "Oldfern Chess". The six pieces in the picture represent the shapes that occur in a set. The sizes are based on 2" board squares, and 1.75" diameter bases on the pieces. The king is 5", and the pawn 2.5". Different sizes would be possible, and smaller pieces would bring down the price a little. This collection is a sampler of different woods - the knight is elm, the bishop goncalo alves, the queen rosewood, the king walnut, the rook beech, and the pawn box. My preferred woods for a set are box and rosewood. The price will vary depending on the wood selected.

The sampler board is made from solid 5/8" planks of sapele and light oak in 2" squares. Variations would of course be possible.
