Acacia tea light trio

Description of work

An acacia log has been cut and then turned to provide three tea-light holders. These were then placed on a thin platter which had been sliced from an acacia log. The heavily serrated bark, typical of acacia, was retained on the base and in parts on the tea light holders, aided by cyanoacrylate, which also helped stabilise the softer parts between the wood and the bark.

The holders and the base have been finished with three coats of wax - Tripoli, white diamond, and finally carnauba wax to give a high polish hard wearing finish.
