Statue plinth

Description of work

Mike requested a wooden plinth for a small statue of Buddha he has. He wanted something to complement the weathered brass of the statue, and asked if it could reflect the base commonly seen on similar statues, that is a pillow shape, with lotus petal motif and beading around the top. This resulted in a choice of mahogany for the wood, and pyrographed motif and beads.

The base was then finished with cellulose sealer, and coated with three coats of wax - Tripoli, white diamond and carnauba.
