Description of work

The Modern Languages department purchased an impressive hexagonal engraved glass perpetual trophy to recognise a gifted linguist each year. There was no easy way of adding winners' names annually, so I was asked if I could provide some kind of base to take these names. The result is as above, with the names pyrographed on a panel on the base.

The base has a rear shoulder, with the front area carved away to allow the glass lettering to be seen. It is finished, as with most trophies, with three coats of wax - tripoli, white diamond and carnauba.
