Description of work

A 12" platter turned froma light oak forms the base for this pyrographed picture and dedication. The subject is Nancy, my granddaughter; the picture is her about 6 months old. In front is a money box - with a slot in the top and a tight fitting (but openable) push fit join half way down the barrel. A little lettering makes it clear who the box is for.

Acacia gives a good pale, close grain finish for woodturning, at least if you have a piece from the heartwood. Where the sapwood is included it can produce some very pleasing patterns.

I can do similar items for most forms of special event. If pictures are required, an electronic photo or photos would be ideal.
