Description of work
This trophy was turned in sweet chestnut. When started I thought it was oak, but the green streaks revealed once the surface was cleared suggested it was chestnut.
Quite a chunky base was allowed to accommodate the engraving plates and the enamel badge. As with many of the trophies, the problem of fixing a flat enamel badge to a curved surface arose. In this case it was solved by insetting a disc into the base, which provided the necessary flat surface.
The upper part of the trophy is decorated with pyrography: a repeating series of "citizen" silhouettes that circle the cup.
