Description of work
An 8" wall plaque turned from sycamore forms the base for this pyrographed picture. The subject is one of The Bridestones, a rock formation on the North York Moors in Dalby Forest.
The wood blank has some quite strong markings in it, which became more pronounced once the piece was oiled and finished. This may enhance or detract from the sketch, depending on your point of view about art on natural wood.
