We have visited three gardens in and around Perth - Branklyn is managed by the National Trust for Scotland, Rodney Gardens and Norie-Miller Grdens are by the River Tay on the Kinnoul side of the city, and Scone Palace is just a few miles away. The trees on this page below are in Rodney and Norie-Miler lGardens

Scone Palace
Scone Palace has grounds which include a collection of fir trees, a star-shaped maze, an ancient burial ground and a pinetum. It has been one of 22 sites in the National Tree Collections of Scotland network since 2011. There are many Douglas Firs, and a pergola with information boards about David Douglas. There are no formal gardens, but 100 acres of woodland gardens with their borders, flowering shrubs and trees creating a gloriously peaceful setting for strolling and enjoying. The Stone of Destiny is no longer there - it is now in a specially created room in the new Perth Museum.
